Kitchen Theory - Food Experiences
& Immersive Dining in London

For over a decade the Kitchen Theory team have designed and delivered some of the world’s most innovative, magical and engaging culinary experiences for the largest and most innovative brands.

For the more adventurous of our guests, Kitchen Theory offers a unique and different perspective on food, creativity and science. Over the years our work has resulted in a body of food experiences that invite our guests to explore not only how food tastes but also how it feels, sounds, behaves and communicates. As creators of multisensory design and experimental gastronomy we continue to push the limits of what dinner can actually be, and this approach has ensured our status as one of the most desired creators of food experiences in London.

We create encounters that challenge preconceptions and heighten awareness. We invite guests whether at our Chef’s Table, during a private dinner or through a brand collaboration to discover that taste is about so much more than just ingredients. Sound frequencies, visual triggers, physical sensations and storytelling frameworks work together as a part of perception. For this reason, we hear so many people tell us that they consider our work as an example of truly immersive dining, where the senses are activated collaboratively rather than separately. We deliver this through research pulled from gastrophysics and psychology and facilitate a conversation in flavour, an interplay of mind and memory woven into each course.

As London’s dining scene evolves, so does our yearning for the extra-ordinary. Our studio’s raw form of immersive dining in London resonates with aesthetic intention and intellect. Our diners are more than observers in what’s about to occur – they’re brought into our narrative. It is this involvement in our process that we prize, extending the dining experience into something greater than the evening spent around the table.

Our collaborations with global brands show just how flexible and articulate we can be. We create bespoke experiences that talk about identity, emotion and story where ordinary hospitality cannot. For organisations looking for new ways of inspiring teams, rewarding clients or launching new concepts, Kitchen Theory offers a platform to unleash the power of multisensory design as a creative tool. These projects have enabled us to develop some of London’s most memorable food experiences, each designed to put the public in touch with the ambitions and values of the brand behind them.

Of course, individuals and small groups can also dive into our world via our monthly supper club, a culinary expression of our philosophy in its most choreographed form. Guests discover dishes that ask to be shared, techniques that surprise the senses and theatrical moments that unveil the latent dimensions of flavour. This is the most tangible manifestation of our commitment to immersive dining, a rare occasion to encounter research-led creativity in an intimate form. Many reminisce of it as not a meal, but a performance; a thoughtful and whimsical excursion into the possibilities of an evening of food.

As London continues to attract inquisitive diners from across the globe, we remain, as ever, committed to pushing the boundaries of immersive dining in London and the art of the dining experience. Our work is always guided by a desire to connect people to food, to challenge perceptions, to provide moments of discovery and novelty that speak to the head and heart. As a first time visitor or a repeat guest, we hope you find every moment at Kitchen Theory a testament to our commitment to imagination, innovation and the extraordinary potential of the senses.

Our Testimonials

"

What the evening showed me, was that surroundings matter greatly, and eating is indeed a sensory experience. The ambiance was such that I got lost in the moment.

By Science & Sustainability Writer, The Guardian

More than a gastronomic gimmick, these meals illuminate a key truth about the mind: the senses do not work in isolation but in concert.

By A feast for the senses, The New Yorker

From invoking the gods to audio garnishes, Kitchen Theory’s menu is a witty excursion into the world of modernist cuisine ...“dinner” is a somewhat reductive name for what was an extraordinary evening.

By The Gannet, FT How To Spend It

Dinner, but not as you know it. Employing gastrophysics to heighten and alter our perception of food, this Barnet ‘experimental gastronomy studio’ is an experience
